I wrote a book

Why I wrote this book?

I decided to write this book after listening again to an interview I did years ago with Cathy Leung.

There was one line she said that stayed with me. It gave me a reason to keep going in darts, through both highs and lows.

Thank you, Cathy. You might not have thought that one sentence would stay with a darts player in Vancouver for so many years.

So I wrote this book from what I have learned and lived through.

What is it about?

Darts Don’t Lie is not a technical manual or a step-by-step guide. No diagrams on grip. No advice on flight shapes. Instead, these are 10 chapters of honest reflections from the throw line, exploring the mental shifts that actually change how I play darts.

It’s written through the lens of darts. But you don’t need to play darts to get it.

It’s really about my journey in darts, focus, pressure, and habit. The stuff that happens in our head when something matters and we don’t want to mess it up.

How did I write my book?

In the introduction, I wrote:
“I have a full-time job, two kids, a family of four. Why do I still find the time and energy to throw darts every day?”

Now there is one more question. Why did I still have the energy to write this book?

The truth is, most of the book was not written by sitting down for hours. It was formed in the middle of life.

While spending time with my kids.
Taking them from place to place.
Letting my mind keep working in the background.

At the playground, watching them play.
At the library, watching them choose books.
Walking them to school.
And teaching them darts. The questions they asked gave me many ideas.

Piece by piece.
A line here. A thought there.
Until one day, I sat down and brought everything together.

Creation has always worked like this.

From radio shows, to radio dramas, to social media posts.
All come from different moments, different places, different sparks.

“Darts Don’t Lie” is now available (In English & Traditional Chinese).
